Linda Hemmersbach
Linda Hemmersbach’s work is based on personal experiences within landscape and place, which she translates into abstract paintings and drawings. She is interested in thinking through painting. Through the combination of different types of paint, marks and surfaces, Linda considers qualities of atmosphere, ephemerality and uncertainty. Recently she has become interested in the fragment and ruin as a site for possibility, discovery and re-imagining. She has explored these ideas through site-specific drawing installations, responding to and often incorporating materials found in her immediate surroundings. The sensitive arrangements highlight the acts of looking, feeling, and experiencing a place.
